The O2 Centre, London

The O2 Centre is a retail and leisure centre with an eight-screen Vue cinema, Esporta gym and restaurants including Nando’s, Zizzi and Yo! Sushi. The centre is anchored by Sainsbury’s, with other retail tenants including Habitat and Waterstones. There is also a 43,000 sq ft Homebase unit at the far end of the centre’s 518 space car park.

Camden Council has granted planning consent for Land Securities to update and extend its 02 Centre, Finchley Road.

As part of the reconfiguration, Land Securities will soften the external streetscape by extending the first floor to form open terrace seating areas for new restaurants adding to the newly created Yo! Sushi, existing Nando's and Zizzi and newly signed Byron hamburgers. The restaurant quarter will have an additional 5,240 sq ft of space and the potential for new glass shop-fronts to be installed below the terrace on the ground floor. This builds on the reconfiguration and extension of the ground floor unit where Oliver Bonas and Paperchase are currently fitting out, to be joined by BoConcept which will be open early in the new year.

Located in an affluent and culturally diverse area, the O2 Centre is ideally positioned on Swiss Cottage’s main high street Finchley Road. With Hampstead and Highgate to the north, and St John’s Wood and Camden to the south, Finchley Road is a convenient hub for the affluent consumer.

The catchment consists primarily of Educated Urbanites with 81% of visitors being from this ACORN group, a significantly higher level than regional and national averages.

The O2 Centre is only 15 minutes from Central London and has excellent public transport links. Finchley Road tube station, which in 2010 had an annual footfall of 8.9 million 1, is only a minutes walk away. Within a 10 minute walk there are 4 other tube and national rail stations. Several frequent bus services also pass through Finchley Road.
