Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth

Southside is a popular centre in Wandsworth town centre anchored by Waitrose, Primark and TK Maxx with leisure anchors of a 14-screen Cineworld cinema and a Virgin Active gym. Additional retail anchors include Topshop, Gap, H&M, New Look, Uniqlo, River Island, Accessorize and Oliver Bonas as well as café and restaurant operators such as Nandos, Caffe Nero, and Ekachai.

The centre is part of the Metro Shopping Fund, a joint venture between Land Securities and Delancey. Footfall is expected to reach 8.5m this year, an increase of 17.25% since Metro purchased the scheme in 2005.

Metro has been awarded planning consent for a 33,000 sq ft retail and restaurant extension overlooking Garratt Lane; which will form the first phase of its wider investment strategy for the 530,000 sq ft Southside Shopping Centre. This will create a stronger retail and leisure proposition for the centre, enlivening the retail frontage and helping to grow the evening economy in the heart of Wandsworth town centre. Works are due to commence later this year.

Wandsworth is London’s largest borough with a catchment of over 1.7 million people. The centre is conveniently located on the busy South Circular road and benefits from good public transport services and its adjoining 1,180 space multi storey car park.
