It represents a fantastic achievement by everyone involved.”

Bob De Barr, Project Director of the Bristol Alliance which built the new £500m Cabot Circus scheme, won the flagship Property Personality of the Year award, after helping to deliver Cabot Circus on time and on budget. Commenting on the win, the judges said Cabot Circus was a major achievent that all of the South West’s property professionals should be proud of, and that Bob had guided the project throughout the 10 years from inception to its opening on 25 September this year.

Accepting his award, Bob told compere Gyles Brandreth and the audience: “With big schemes like Cabot Circus you will be working through economic cycles. It’s important to stay confident and keep at it. I’m delighted Cabot Circus has been so well received.”

The hat trick of awards was completed with the company’s Princesshay scheme in Exeter being crowned Best Regeneration Scheme. The judges said that Princesshay was already delivering on its promise to regenerate Exeter, making it a worthy winner. Princesshay, developed by Land Securities in partnership with Exeter City Council, represents the biggest single investment in regeneration in Exeter’s history, costing over £200m.
